[Amber adopted Meeka Eleanor Louise when she was 11 weeks old. At the time of our session, Meeka recently turned 11 years old. Meeka was born with hip dysplasia, and recently had ruptured both her ACLs and developed arthritis. Amber has undertaken every measure to manage Meeka’s pain (although sometimes she isn’t sure how much pain Meeka actually feels when she takes up her zoomies), and due to her age she is not a good candidate for surgery. Amber wanted to get images of Meeka while Meeka was still mobile and her quality of life was still good. The connection between Meeka and Amber was so strong, and it was such a beautiful honor to photograph them.]
